How to Learn What Really Works For Search Engine Optimization
By
Daniel McGonagle

The evidence is right in front of your eyes when it comes to realizing what works for SEO.

If you are a student of SEO and Online traffic generation like I am, then you learn to look at things in an analytical way.

Some things that I see when analyzing new SEO trends is what types of articles, blog posts, and sites are ranking well.

A great way to determine this is to watch the SERPS during a popular new product launch. At the very beginning of a launch you will see some Diggs and some FeedAge, and Feedaggs, and even some Mixx and some “Stumbles”.

But you hardly ever see those social bookmarking urls in the top of the SERPs for a very long time. Sometimes you’ll see a newe social bookmarking site doing really well in the SERPS, but it’s difficult to keep tracks of which ones are currently working.

In my experience, the following types of web real estate do very well in the SERPs over a long period of time.

  • Blogs with good domain names (keywords in the title of domain name)
  • Articles from EzineArticles.com
  • Forum posts from DigitalPoint and the Warrior forum
  • Slideshare
  • WetPaint blog posts
  • Wordpress.com sites
  • Squidoo Lenses
  • HubPages

Recently though, I have seen Google’s version of EzineArticle’s doing really well. Google’s version of EZA is called KNOL, but the KNOLs I’ve seen are pretty heavy-handed and promotional, unlike EZA articles.

When you watch the SERPs during product launches you will see some sites come and go, You will hardly ever see a social bookmarking link maintain its position in the SERPs for a long period of time.

Squidoo Lenses, HubPages, and WordPress.com sites can do pretty well and have some staying power, but the sites that maintain the top rankings are those that are self-hosted sites with keywords in the domain name.

It is possible for lenses, hubs and free blogs to do well if you put some links pointing to them, but it would take more effort to get those to rank well than it would for a regular site to rank well.

The point of this article is to tell you that SEO isn’t complicated if you know what to look for.

Here’s a checklist to teach you how you can learn what really works for SEO

  1. Type in your search term at Google
  2. See what kinds of sites are ranking well on first 2 pages of listings
  3. Check back in a week and see what kinds of sites are still there
  4. Make a note of what kinds of sites are doing well for your search term.
  5. Do not try to reinvent the wheel with SEO, just open your eyes to see what is really working right now.

It’s that simple, so keep it simple. If you want to take things another step further, install the SEO for firefox plugin to assess the SEO competition you’re up against. The SEO for firefox plugin will tell you how many links other sites have pointing to them, and conventional wisdom states that if you get more links than your competitors, then you will outrank them.

However, that conventional wisdom is not always true, because the search engines like to rank new content higher sometimes, and not all links are created equal. So getting more links than your competitors may not work for you, or it will work really well.

Earlier I mentioned that lenses and hub pages and EZA articles and do well for rankings and they can achieve this without any backlinks because of the power of the system they’re tied into (Squidoo, com, HubPages.com, Wordpress.com). That right there is a testament to the fact that not all sites are created equal.

Things are also subject to change at any time when it comes to how Google and other search engines rank certain pages. Recently I’ve noticed that EZA articles are doing really well in the SERPs, and KNOL is making some appearances as well.

An ezinearticles.com article I wrote about how to start an internet business has been at the top of the search engines for 2 weeks now at the time of this writing, but it wasn’t anywhere to be found prior to that. So things change when it comes to ranking pages in the SERPS.

Some things that will always work for you SEO-wise no matter what:

  • Keyword-rich domain names
  • Getting relevant one-way, anchor-text style backlinks
  • Adding fresh new content to your sites

A lot of people look at PR, or PageRank as an indicator of how much traffic a site gets or how much link juice a site has. Well, I’m here to tell you that PageRank is not as important as the linkjuice your site has and also, how often your site is getting spidered by the search engines crawlers.

The more frequently you post to your sites, the more frequently the search engines spiders will come back. If your site is not properly optimize for on-page SEO, then it may take a few passes of the spiders to have additional pages noticed by the search engines.

A lot of blogs and themes comes with calendars and many people leave these on their sites and it’s a mistake to do that because the calendars send the spiders into an endless loop and they eventually just give up spidering your site after a certain period of time.

The better your site is built, the easier it will be for the spiders to crawl your site and rank and index your pages.

One last thing you should know about SEO….

You can do a lot of the wrong things and still get ranked well if you have other good things happening to your site, like getting linked to by a particularly high-ranking site with good link juice and relevant anchor text-style link back to your site.

Start an Internet Home Business - 3 Things You Should Know, and How I Would Start Over

Start an Internet Home Business - 3 Things You Should Know, and How I Would Start Over
By
Daniel McGonagle

Before you Learn How To Start An Internet Business, there are 2 things you may not want to hear about running an Internet Home Business. I will also include the 3 things I wish I was told when I was first learning how to start an internet business.

#1- The first thing you should accept as a reality is that there is a bit of a learning curve to starting a new business, and that’s putting it mildly.

There are several online tools and services you will have to become accustomed to working with and using properly. Building websites and using autoresponders are the 2 biggest learning curves for most people that are first starting out with their internet business.

Many people will consider technical challenges as being the obstacles preventing them from achieving their eventual online business success, but nothing can be further from the truth because building a business and running an internet business are 2 different things.

You see, some people are hung up on the technical details of site and page creation, but you must also see and think past your nose here. Instead of focusing on technical details, try to think beyond the know-how of HOW to build a website, and at some point start thinking about:

WHAT kind of website to build

WHY you are building the next website at all?

  • Is it to explore another niche for profitability or,
  • To expand your organic traffic reach in the search engines, or
  • To brand yourself via positioning?
  • etc…

NOW that your site is built, what are you going to do with it?

  • Will you send PPC traffic to it?
  • Will you build links to it to achieve rankings?
  • Are you going to implement any traffic tracking and sales page conversion tools?
  • What are you going to promote on your site, and how, and why?

#2- The second thing you might not want to hear is that experiencing running a previous or current business will come in quite handy for you.

When you first decided you wanted to learn how to start an internet business, you may not have had any previous experience running a business online or offline. With no prior business-running experience, you are facing quite the learning curve when it comes to thinking about market research, positioning, branding, return on investment etc…

There’s also the drawback of starting a business that seems so intangible simply because it’s all bits and bytes, basically. With an Internet Business, there’s no doors to open, no customers to greet, no front walkway to sweep and greet the passersby, it’s merely an online, virtual, non-physical entity that you’re hoping will produce a real, tangible income for you.

And there’s really not set hours, either

3 things I wish I knew when I started my Internet Business: If I were going to learn how to start an internet business again, here’s what I would have dearly liked if someone told me:

1- You need to possess or develop some business experience to run your online business (DUH!).

In other words, you need to walk into this whole home internet business idea with the attitude and outlook that this is and always shall be a business venture, not a time-wasting hobby. You will have to make business decisions every step of the way as you and your business grow alongside each other.

2- Mental discipline is the key to your internet business success, (it really is)

The #1 malady affecting many people learning how to start their internet business is the lack of focus, direction, information overload, and not listening to good sources of information. Many people allow themselves to be led down the path of easy instant riches and fall into the trap of believing everyone’s scamming them, and everyone’s a scammer when it’s their fault for running with the wrong crowd in the first place.

The Law Of Attraction principles play a big role in who you decide you will listen to, and are listening to right now. You chose to align yourself with whoever it is you’re listening to now, and that is your choice, so choose your online mentors, friends, and influences wisely.

It’s your fault and nobody else’s fault if you keep falling for those easy-get-rich-quick scams.

3- Personal development an internet business development go hand in hand with each other.

As you meet, address, and overcome the new challenges that are part of your learning curve, you develop as a person whilst developing and fine-tuning your business.

Business and personal development are not mutually exclusive concepts and while I can only tell you that this have proven true for me, the only way you will truly, truly, believe me is if/when you figure this out and experience it for yourself.

If I were to do this all over again, I would read more hard-cover books about business development, then learn more about the Art of Selling since that’s basically what this is all about, if you want to learn how to start an internet business, that is.

If you want to build an online presence as a hobby, that’s a different story, but we’re talking about business here, and businesses need to sell to stay in business. So learning the art of selling and writing good copy for online sales letters is crucial, too.

If I had to do it all over again, I would also learn how to properly do PPC marketing in a risk-free way without damaging or emptying my wallet too many times. When done correctly, PPC marketing is a guaranteed source of instant on-demand traffic.

If you want to learn how to start an internet business, the core concepts you must learn are business (management and development), learn how to sell (copywriting, art of selling) and then add traffic to your sites, either by PPC or myriad other methods available for getting traffic.

Is WebProsperity A Scam?

January 4, 2009 by Daniel · 1 Comment

Pretty soon, people will be getting even more pressure or notifications about the WebProsperity MLM program, and many people will want to know if its a Scam or not

Well, it’s not. It’s run by people with good management experience with other large enterprises, and there are many reputable marketers promoting it, myself included.

However, there will be people who will find a reason, ANY reason to say it’s something less than desirable to get into.

Well, you’re going to see this no matter what program it is you’re investigating, and most especially so when it’s a very popular product launch like WebProsperity is becoming.

I read something somewhere once and it said,

“If you think the world is full of good people you will come to the conclusion that you are right, and if you look hard enough you will also come to the conclusion that the world is full of jerks”.

Point being, the internet is a big “place” so if you look hard enough you will find what you are looking for, good or bad.

Look… no program is perfect, nobody is perfect, and not everything is a good fit for everyone.

So why am I so postive about WebProsperity?

Because it’s a no-brainer.

When I was interviewed about WebProsperity on Blog Talk Radio, the interviewer wanted to talk about the matrix system, a 2 X 15, and the commission percentages (67%), and the eventual spillover…

But I don’t want to emphasize those things, because those are money and payments details. I prefer to think about whether or not WebProsperity is going to be good for my team members.

If you don’t get into WebProsperity soon, then you’re going to be a lot lower on the totem pole than those who joined already, and you’ll be looking a lot further up than you are looking down.

In other words, Join WebProsperity now while it’s still free, but don’t be disheartened by the fact that you’re joining kind of late..

The reason you shouldn’t feel bad about joing later rather than sooner is because there will be a lot of people who will quit WebProsperity once the time comes to actually pay for the services that WebProsperity offers you.

This is also part of the problem for all the people emphasizing the fact that WebProsperity is free to join (for right now, anyways). Those people emphasizing the matrix, spillover, and commissions ans residual income are not getting the quality people they need to build a powerful stable downline.

When you emphasize the FREE-ness of a program, you’re getting 100% tire kickers and you will see a lot of people ending up as deadbeat downlines or just people who joined out of curiosity but never intend to do any type of work to help themselves, and your downline grow.

WebProsperity Review - A Candid Review of the Web Prosperity Program
By
Daniel McGonagle

This WebProsperity Review will cover what the hype is all about and why Web Prosperity is getting so much attention.

WebProsperity is the creation of some big-name marketer named David D’Arcangelo who I have never heard of until recently. One entity that I have heard of is Implix, the people who brought us the GetResponse autoresponder and they are behind this program, too. There are marketers like Ewen Chia, Stone Evans, James Brown, Stu Stirling and many other internet marketers promoting this program.

So what’s the hype all about and what exactly is WebProsperity?

WebProsperity is an MLM-style program catering to the Internet Marketers of the world. I admit that sentence may not make sense to you but there are certain things that internet marketers do every day, and certain tools that we rely upon heavily. Well, WebProsperity has valuable products as part of their product suite and some of what they offer is the ability to roll your AWeber and AudioAcrobat and other expenses all into one fee.

This is part of the reason why WebProsperity is getting so much attention right now. If you’re an internet marketer, you know there are certain tools you can’t really live without and some services that you’ll gladly pay for every month without hesitation (like an autoresponder).

When you gather up some services and features that marketers really need and offer it as an MLM-style program catering to a specific audience, you have a winner there.

This would not be a complete WebProsperity Review without addressing the down side of any MLM program and the down side to each and every MLM program is the membership retention rate.

However, as mentioned previously there are a whole suite of products being offered to the members, not just AWeber and AudioAcrobat-style integration. You can store contacts all in one area, manage your downline from a central location, and even provide some training to your team.

I have been burned by MLM programs before and the main reason why some of them failed was because of a fluffed-up product suite and poor management by the program owners.

With WebProsperity, the products they offer are products I need and use in my every day operations, plus their management has been proven over the years in a good way, judging by the success of Implix’s GetResponse program

Daniel McGonagle’s Web Prosperity team is one of the most powerful and help teams you could join.

WebProsperity has had over 5000 people join in the last 24 hours, and it looks like a really good thing to be a part of.

Who recommends WebProsperity, besides me?

  • Ewen Chia
  • James Brown
  • Patric Chan
  • Stu Stirling
  • Stone Evans
  • and many more…

What will Web Prosperity actually cost once the program allows for paid signups?

There are 2 price points, $29.95/month and $59.95/month

What are you paying for with WebProsperity, what exactly are you getting?

The benefits….

Good management, residual income, spillover referral system in a forced matrix, and valuable tools you can use for your Primary Business of selling whatever it is you want to sell online.

The WebProsperity tools, products, and services…

As you may have read in my previous Web Prosperity Review, this program is co-founded by the Implix group, the people that brought you/us the GetResponse autoresponder and other tools such as WebSite Wizard and Talk Stream

Personally I use AWeber as my primary autoresponder but Web Prosperity has the ability to offer you a top-notch autoresponder as well.

I also use AudioAcrobat, and the Implix group developed a similar service (Talk Stream) , and yes, it can be one of the tools you get with your Web Prosperity position.

Both of those tools cost me almost $40.00/month to use, and to have the option of rolling those costs into one centralized location is not only smart business, but it also allows me (and you) the ability to do a lot of necessary marketing tasks from one location.

The Added Bonus to joining Web Prosperity is that it’s an MLM-style program so the people you refer to this time-and-money-saving program also pays you a generous 67% commission.

What does AWeber offer for an affilaite commission?  20%  ?

What does AudioAcrobat offer for a commission, 50% ?

Web Prosperity not only saves you money and time, but you can make a nice residual income from the people you refer to their program.  With their forced matrix system and inherent spillover, there is a viral effect added as well.  The viral effect comes from the fact that you’re experiencing spillover referrals all while your busy using their tools to do what you may already be doing, marketing on the internet.

Save money, lessen your marketing expenses, AND earn residual income all at the same time?

Yeah, I dig that, and so will you

WebProsperity - Where Internet Marketing Meets MLM

What is WebProsperity?

WebProsperity is an MLM-style program run by some top-name marketers and it a hybrid of Internet Marketing and MLM concepts.  It offers some products and services that Internet Marketers need plus it’s also an MLM-style program with downlines and a matrix-based compensation plan.

There are a ton of heavyweights promoting this program right now, including Stone Evans, the creator of the PlugInProfits program.  From what I have read the owners of GetResponse (Implix) are running this program and it’s pretty amazing to see them step outside the box here to create a very unique system and program.

Warning: I hate MLM programs with a passion because I could never understand why people joined only to do nothing.  Sometimes I felt like I was dealing with adult children when teaching them how to grow their business.  But this program is different because the products are good and useful and the compensation plan is overwhelmingly generous as well.

A lot of internet marketers I know won’t go near an MLM program but many of the ones I converse with are head-over-heels for Web Prosperity, and for good reason.

WebProsperity launches on January 7, 2009 and there is a real potential here for considerable residual income for those who join early enough in the process. If you’re lucky enough to get emailed about this by someone with a large list, then you’re basically sitting on free residual income once you join because the marketers with huge lists will be building your downline via their spillover.

Remember, this is MLM meeting regular internet marketing so there is a downline involved, there is matrix of sorts that keeps the paycharts and commissions organized, and there’s also other areas that can add to your residual income, too!

With WebProsperity there is spillover, which means my referrals actually go to you.  If/WHEN you join my team or any other marketer’s team with a sizable list in the thousands, then you’re going to do well no matter what because of the spillover effect.

Join my WebProsperity team here then contact me for the team building details for your spillover…

UPDATE: Again, I am excited here… I use AudioAcrobat to create audios and audio-based products and AWeber for my email list management system, but now those 2 programs can be rolled into one with webProsperity, thereby reducing my operating expenses (which isn’t much anyways) a little bit more. I was actually thinking of cancelling my AudioAcrobat anyways because I wasn’t using it that much, but WebProsperity now allows me to roll those 2 costs into one, plus WebProsperity is an income producing program that will be paying me to use their services, basically. :)

WebProsperity is free so take a look at it here before it is no longer free to join.

Infos - Create Articles

December 27, 2008 by Jonas Milkei · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Internet Marketing Articles

There are many webmasters that find writing articles for their site to be a very tedious task. Many people who need to write articles also procrastinate as much as they can to delay the amount of writing they need to do. Many people dread writing articles because they find researching for the topic and writing down original materials will be too taxing on them.

You need to have your creative juices flowing and simply downloading an article would be plagiarism or tantamount to stealing, not exactly. Have you ever heard about public domain? These are articles written down by many authors that have declared their works to be public domain, which means anybody can use it for whatever purpose they want.

While most writers prefer to work at their copyright for their rights, there are also a number that does not share the spirit of their work. Public domain, the articles are not owned by anyone and can be used by anyone and abused. The authors have waived their rights over their works, and it is there for the public to make use of. You can use the public domain articles to help you write your articles. With the public domain, the articles that you can simply edit your own style and rewrite them as you please to make it suits your needs. All ideas are already there and its just a matter of research to write the article on the subject or object you need.

This is probably the easiest way to write articles. You don’t need to scour around the library or the internet for hours for information and start an article from scratch. For webmasters who are looking for articles to fill their site and to generate a high ranking for their website in search engine results, they can just modify the article by infusing keywords and keyword phrases related to their site.

A website operator webmaster or no possibility of any risk of contracting sued for copyright infringement because they are in the public domain once again, which means that anyone can use. Writing articles using public domain custom require as much work as a write it from scratch. You save a lot of time as well. A good factor in the use of public domain articles on your site or for any project is that you save a lot of money. You dismiss the need to hire experienced and seasoned writers that some operators of websites use to write their articles. While one half wording of the article only states that are established between 10 and 15 dollars, this cost will increase dramatically when you need hundreds of items to meet the needs of your site.

For items that need to generate news bulletins or an electronic magazine, articles in the public domain will be very beneficial. There is a need for payment of taxpayers or writers to write articles for its electronic newsletter or magazine. You can fill all the pages without any cost or the concerns of being sued and sought by the writers. You can simply copy the items and place them on your newsletter and e-zine.

Public domain articles are a virtual untapped resource that many people fail to realize the true value. The power of articles, keywords and keyword phrases have been deemed invaluable these past few years for many internet based businesses and sites that want to rank high in search engine results. The number of article and content writers have grown significantly due to the rise in the demand for articles. As newer and newer topics and subjects have arisen, there are many demands for new articles to be written. An industry has been formed and this is a worldwide demand.

Public domain articles have given a great alternative for those who are cash strapped as well as do not have the time nor the skills to do their articles for themselves. Searching for public domain articles is as easy as 1 - 2 - 3. You can search for them in search engines and do searches in many directories for the topic or subject that you need. Read them and simpy copy paste them to a word processing program and simply edit them to suit your needs.

Sure Fire ways to expand your Network with Email Marketing.

In sales, customer are your lifeline. Therefore, you need to maintain contact with them for many purposes. You can contact them for feedback survey, product updates, or upcoming promotional events.

The invent of online Network Marketing created a gap in the personal touch in marketing. You need to fill up the gap to succeed in Network Marketing

The only important thing you need to remember when doing MLM / Network Marketing is PEOPLE. You need to connect with people. Online, we call them leads. You need leads to have any sale. Not only you need leads, you need targeted leads, that is people who are interested in your product or services.

These are your potential cash cows. You need to follow up with them, update them regularly, forming a relationship. The purpose of doing this is to increase their awareness of your company or product. Imagine, today if you keep seeing the advertisement of, say, MacDonald’s, the next time you make a decision on where to eat, you will probably be thinking of MacDonald’s. You need to get them to see your advertisements. The easiest way is to send them emails.

In order to maximise the results of your Email Marketing Campaign, you need to do more than just sending them information. There are more things to take note when you start your Email Marketing Campaign.

Email Pro

Here are some sure fire tips to emailing like a professional.

- Source

People will typically the sender of the Email before opening the mail. Therefore you should get a nice email address. Try not to use free email accounts from Yahoo, Msn, or Google. Let the readers identify you easily through your email adress. You can use emails like sales@yourcompanyname.com. This can be done very easily with your website hosting server.

The next factor to take note is your subject line. Keep it clear, concise, and under 50 words. You can try to create interest in readers in your subject line.

- Main body

Quickly identify yourself and the purpose of the message. It will be better if you state who referred you to them. Restrict the use of fancy pictures, keep it business like, or make it in line with the style of your website.

Increase The Effectiveness of Your Email

By increasing your Email conversion rates, you will get more traffic into your website, thus increasing your ROE (returns on efforts) for writing the emails. To increase your email conversion rates, you should follow our 6 rules to emailing success;

- Brand yourself/ The Company

Whatever you are marketing, you need to brand yourself or your website so that it will leave a deep impression in people in order to differentiate yourself from the rest. Use the branding you created. Use it in all your emails in the subject line so people can recognise you.

- Honesty

Be honest in your subject line. Don’t trick them to opening the email with misleading or false information. Be cautioned that it is a requirement to state accurate subject line.

- Create urgency to take action

Use time sensitive words or phrases to create a sense of urgency in readers. Use words like, For Limited Time Only, Buy Now, and Whilst Stock Last.

- Entice them

Give readers benefits to open the email in the subject line. E.g. Redeem you Free Gift now! You can also incorporate the urgency to open the email in your subject line.

- Keep to the limit

Do not use too many bold, capital letters, bright colors, and punctuations( !!!!) in your text. It makes your text very confusing and distracting. But worst of all is that, the email filters may classify it as SPAM.

- Simple and Sweet

Don’t try to put in tonnes of information and updates in one email. Keep it short and sweet, focusing on the main points only. Practice your own discretion when writing emails to your audience and purpose of message.

*P.S Take note that it is a mandatory requirement to include an “unsubscribe tab” in your emails.
